Accessibility
Accessibility as a form of inclusion is one of HÂþ»â€™s six core principles fundamental to online teaching. Implementing the principles of Universal Design for Learning by infusing your course with multiple ways for students to engage, a variety of media, and options for students to demonstrate their learning is a great start to creating a universally accessible course.
In addition to your course design, there are ways to design your online classroom space to ensure accessibility and make your courses navigable by assistive technologies. Accommodations, too, improve accessibility by reducing or removing barriers to a student’s learning.
