Why do PhD Medical Physics at Dal?

HÂþ»'s (Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Programs) doctoral program in Medical Physics prepares graduates to pursue a rich and diverse range of career opportunities and to become leaders in the field of medical physics.

The PhD program requires one year of core courses and, typically, three years of thesis research. in the PhD program (which can also be completed in conjunction with the MSc program) provide students with the medical physics foundations specified within the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics standards.

Our PhD students are encouraged to be innovators, beginning with their thesis research. For your doctoral thesis, you can undertake research in therapeutic medical physics, medical imaging or a variety of multi-disciplinary topics.

When you graduate with your PhD in Medical Physics, you will be well positioned to compete for residency training programs and career opportunities that can include and combine clinical support, research, academics and administration.
