Health Promotion courses
Learning to build healthier communities
One full academic year (12 months) of resident study at HÂþ» University is the minimum requirement for the one-year MA Health Promotion degree. However, students should expect to take from 18 to 24 months of full-time work to complete the degree. Ordinarily, for full-time students, the degree must be completed within four years of first registration.
You may also choose to complete the degree through part-time study. However, financial assistance is not available for part-time students.
A total of five credits (30 credit hours) at the graduate level are required: 18 credit hours of courses plus 12 credit hours of thesis work. Electives may be chosen from the lists of courses below, from graduate courses offered by other departments at HÂþ», or, to a limited extent, at other universities.
You may take a maximum of 6 credit hours of ancillary courses above and beyond the required program of study.
NOTE: Full-time students are expected to complete all course work in the first year of study. Students must register for the thesis component of the program in the spring/summer term of the first year and in each subsequent term until the thesis is successfully completed.
