Adjunct Clinical Associate

Purpose
To recognize the ongoing contribution of the Atlantic Region clinical physiotherapy community in educating physiotherapy students for entry to professional practice.

Eligibility criteria
• License to practice as a physiotherapist in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island.

• Member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

• Active contributor to the ongoing development of the profession of physiotherapy through volunteer, unpaid activity.

• Clinical Instructor for a minimum of 6 or more students from the School of Physiotherapy, HÂþ»­ University over the past four years.

OR

• A current Centre Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCCE) who has been instrumental in securing physiotherapy student placements on a consistent basis.

Responsibilities
• To maintain good standing in each of the above eligibility criteria.

• To act as a liaison between the clinical community and the HÂþ»­ School of Physiotherapy.

Term of appointment
The appointment is for a 3-year renewable term.

Note: Adjunct Clinical Associate positions carry no renumeration.

Application Procedure
Physiotherapists who meet the eligibility criteria may submit, via email or mail, an application form and curriculum vitae to the Chair, Appointments Committee at the School of Physiotherapy.  [PDF - 338 kB]

Deadline for applications is November 15 for appointment to be effective the following July.

Applications will be reviewed by the Chair of the Appointments Committee and the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education and a recommendation will be sent to Director of the School of Physiotherapy, who, in turn, will make a recommendation to the Dean, Faculty of Health. The Dean will forward the recommendation to the President’s Office, Board of Governors. The official appointment letter will be sent from the President’s Office.

On receiving the letter from the President’s Office, the Adjunct Clinical Associates will also receive an Orientation Package from the School of Physiotherapy that includes:

i. Guidelines for accessing a HÂþ»­ Net ID and Banner Number

ii. Guidelines for Accessing HÂþ»­ University Library Resources

iii. School information.

Renewal of Appointment
Adjunct Clinical Associates interested in applying for renewal of their appointment must submit an updated application form and curriculum vitae in the fall prior to the termination of their current appointment.
