Become a Mentee

Overview


Are you a graduate student at HÂþ»­ University who identifies as Black, Indigenous, and/or a Person of Colour (BIPOC)? This program offers BIPOC graduate students the chance to develop a Mentoring relationship for their academic, personal and professional growth. As a Mentee, you'll receive guidance, support, networking opportunities, skill development and expanded perspectives.


Eligibility


To be eligible to be a Mentee, you must:

  • Self-identify as Black, Indigenous and/or Person of Colour (BIPOC)
  • Be enrolled in a graduate program at HÂþ»­ University

Your role as a Mentee is to:

  • Schedule and maintain regular appointments with Mentor
  • Maintain confidentiality of discussions.
  • Collaborate with Mentor to establish clear academic and professional development goals.
  • Identify needs and barriers to goal achievement.
  • Actively seek assistance from the Mentor when needed.
  • Take ownership of personal career development.
  • Show respect, appreciation, and openness to feedback.
  • Understand that the Mentor may have other commitments that could affect availability.
  • Engage thoughtfully and openly with Mentor's advice.
  • Share knowledge, and experiences, and provide constructive feedback to the Mentor.

To be a Mentee, complete the Mentee application form . You will be added to our list and contacted once you are matched with a Mentor.
