Dean's Coffee Club

HÂþ» Engineering alumni are invited to join Dean, John Newhook, for breakfast and a chance to learn more about innovative research projects within the faculty.

The Dean’s Coffee Club has been taking place for over ten years and gives our alumni the opportunity to catch up with old friends.

Along with breakfast, alumni hear from top researchers within the faculty about their latest projects and innovative work with industry.

Please join us for our next Coffee Club Event:

Location
Digital Event on TEAMS live

Dr. Amina Stoddart is an Assistant Professor in the Centre for Water Resources Studies and the Department of Civil and Resource Engineering. Dr. Stoddart received her Certificate of Applied Science from Acadia University, and her BEng in Biological Engineering and her PhD in Civil Engineering from HÂþ» University.

Dr. Stoddart’s research focuses on water/wastewater treatment optimization and the development of new tools and methods for water quality characterization. Dr. Stoddart has been working to apply water industry expertise in UV disinfection and wastewater characterization to COVID-19 responses.

Two key spaces where water/wastewater industry knowledge and research capacity is being harnessed for COVID-19 response include: UV disinfection for decontamination of personal protective equipment and virus community source tracking through wastewater-based epidemiology.

This presentation will discuss how Dr. Stoddart's research team, in collaboration with academic, utility, and private sector partners, is supporting the fight against COVID-19 through research efforts in these key spaces. The session will end with a Q&A where Amina will answer any questions you may have. Please join us to learn more about Dr. Brown's next generation ultrasound imaging and therapeutic technologies.
