Am I eligible to apply for housing at Peter Green Hall?

Applicants must be a full-time student at one of the universities in Halifax, must be married or have a child or children and must be residing with their spouse in Halifax.

Priority is given for students of HÂþ»­ University.

How do I apply?

You may email pgh@dal.ca or fill out an application form to be added to the waitlist. 

How long is the waitlist for Peter Green Hall?

As units in Peter Green Hall are in high demand, students can wait approx. 6-12 months or longer.

How much is rent?

Rent for one bedroom unit is $930.00 per month and rent for a two-bedroom unit is $1175.00 per month.

What payment method do I use for rent?

Rent is withdrawn from the student’s bank account monthly.

When is rent due?

Rent is due the first of every month.

What are the lease terms?

The lease will renew annually if the tenant is a full-time student for both school terms.

Do I need to pay a damage deposit?

No, students are not charged a damage deposit. 

Do I need to provide proof of tenant insurance?

Yes, proof of tenant insurance is required to move into a unit at Peter Green Hall.  

Are utilities included?

Yes, heat, hot water and electricity are included.

Are the units furnished?

All units rented are unfurnished. 

Is parking available at the building?

Yes, underground parking is available for an extra fee of $50/month.

What is your pet policy?

Pets are not allowed at Peter Green Hall. Only registered service or emotional support animals are allowed to live in the building.

The building is located at 1094 Wellington Street, approx. 5 mins away from HÂþ»­ University.
