Are you a first-year student or a student starting a new program or degree?
Come visit us! Students don’t always come to an appointment with an in-progress paper. Many students book an appointment to get a better understanding of university writing expectations or writing in a new program. It’s a great chance to have an informal chat about writing and any concerns you may have, and you will have made a connection with an advisor you may like to meet with again, and, we’d love to meet you!

The Writing Centre offers writing support in undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs in all fields of study for HÂþ» and King’s students. We meet with students one-to-one to discuss written work, from first-year assignments to presentation slides and posters to final reports and dissertations.
We also offer writing workshops, academic integrity support, supplemental classes, and special events including dedicated writing weeks to support student writing.
Our goal at the Writing Centre is to support students to write independently. We are happy to provide feedback at any stage of the writing process from pre-writing to revision. We also advise on grammar, punctuation, and citation, but please note that the Writing Centre is not a proofreading or copyediting service.
