The Indigenous Program Planning Committee of the Dal Libraries invites you to join us on Thursday, February 1, for a celebration of Apuknajit, the Mi'kmaw mid-winter feast honouring the spirit of winter. Â
We will celebrate in both Halifax and Truro with a Mi’kmaw welcome and smudging ceremony at 4:30 p.m. followed by a feast at 5:00 p.m.
Designed in consultation with Catherine Martin, Director of Indigenous Community Engagement, the menu will blend the traditional with the contemporary, including lusknikn and molasses, beef stew, and blueberry tarts. Â
