The Faculty of Computer Science seeks an outstanding candidate for a career-stream Instructor position in Computer Science. We seek candidates who can reflect industry and professional best-practice back into our courses and curriculum and who can share their knowledge and professional experience with the students. These factors then shape and direct our future technology graduates.
This position will primarily involve (i) working with the Curriculum Committee in the development of new curriculum and teaching materials that will incorporate the modern practice of software development into courses; (ii) teaching undergraduate and graduate; and (iii) participating in other Faculty administration and student affairs, such as the Masters of Applied Computer Science (MACS) Committee, Curriculum Committee, and student advising.
The courses assigned to the successful candidate will be negotiated with the candidate based on the candidate’s expertise and the needs of the university programs.
The successful candidate for this position must meet the following requirements:
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý At minimum a Bachelor degree in Computer Science (or equivalent field).
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý 10+ years of professional software development experience, including experience as a manager of a software team
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Experience teaching modern software development, software engineering, and cloud computing, at both the graduate and undergraduate level
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Experience in modern software development practices including full stack development, agile development, continuous integration, test driven development, automated deployment, and automated testing
Although the instructor is not expected to conduct research, the successful candidate will have a well-defined area of interest in CS in which they will remain current and be able to teach senior-level and graduate courses.
