POSITION: Part-time Academic, Economics of Innovation

Econ 2211.03 – TR 1735-1855 - September-December 2019

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION:  Department of Economics

PAY RATE: As per CUPE contract (1.5 Part-time Academic Equivalent)

WORK ASSIGNMENT:  Lecture to students during specified hours, hold office hours, develop course outline, prepare and grade course components and final exams. Each week of classes to include one session on the topic assigned for that week and a second session designed to introduce the practical aspects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics' (STEM's) contributing innovations to productivity and growth in the 21st century, post-industrial economy.  The scheduled practical and experiential sessions are of three varieties: field trips, presentations and a workshop.

REQUIREMENTS:   A Masters in Economics is necessary as an absolute minimum qualification for this position, including excellent oral and written communication skills.  Preference will be given to candidates with an established and demonstrable record of innovation and connections to industry and government officials.
