DEPARTMENT/LOCATION:Ìý Department of Earth Sciences, Primarily LSC-2012 (GIS Teaching Lab).

PAY RATE:Ìý According to CUPE Agreement Local 3912

WORK ASSIGNMENT:Ìý Teaching Assistants will be responsible for assisting the primary instructor in teaching the laboratory component of ERTH / ENVS / GEOG 3500: Geoscience Information Management. Primary duties include supervising laboratory sessions and marking student lab submissions. The Teaching Assistants report directly to the instructor of ERTH / ENVS / GEOG 3500 (Dr. Christopher Greene). Successful applicants for the TA65 positions will be responsible for supervising one laboratory session per week throughout the Fall 2018 semester. The TA90 position will be responsible for supervising two laboratory sessions per week throughout the Fall 2018 semester. Applicants may be expected to mark student submissions in the exam period and/or invigilate the final exam. The Fall semester begins on September 4th, 2018 and ends December 17th, 2018.

REQUIREMENTS: Teaching Assistant must be a senior undergraduate or graduate student at HÂþ»­ University, with strong command of Geographic Information Systems software (ArcGIS Desktop). Experience with ArcPro and the ESRI online environment not required but is an asset. The Teaching Assistant must be reliable, energetic, and enthusiastic about the position.
