Instructor or Senior Instructor of Accounting (Audit)

The Rowe School of Business invites applications for a probationary or continuing 100% FTE appointment in Accounting (Audit) at the rank of instructor or senior instructor (dependent upon qualifications and experience) commencing July 1, 2017.

Necessary qualifications, experience and skills:

• MBA or a related Master’s Degree
• Canadian professional accounting designation in good standing with experience in the audit environment
• Ability to teach Audit and a range of introductory financial and managerial courses, a case-based capstone Accounting course, and Financial Statement analysis courses
• At least five years of experience teaching relevant courses in a co-operative education environment
• Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence in classes of various sizes, including those with more than 50 students
• Experience using technology to enhance the learning experience
• Evidence of active professional practice in at least two areas, such as: publications, commissioned material for professional accounting associations, creation of original pedagogic material for classroom use, activities to foster dissemination of teaching and learning strategies, and/or delivery of material for business groups or professional education
• Experience engaging local business leaders through classroom interactions and other activities

The successful applicant will be expected to teach Audit at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and to maintain an active profile in at least two areas of professional practice (as defined above). This position also includes substantial service (such as committee work and student coaching) within the school, faculty and university.

Necessary qualifications, experience and skills:
• MBA or a related Master’s Degree, or senior-level professional experience in accounting or a related field
• Canadian professional accounting designation in good standing
• Ability to teach Cost Management and a range of introductory financial and managerial courses, and financial statement analysis
• At least five years of experience teaching relevant courses in a cooperative education environment
• Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence in classes of various sizes, including those with more than 50 students
• Experience using technology to enhance the learning experience
• Experience in co-ordinating multi-section courses
• Evidence of active professional practice in at least two areas, such as: publications, commissioned material for professional accounting associations, creation of original pedagogic material for classroom use, activities to foster dissemination of teaching and learning strategies, and/or delivery of material for business groups or professional education.
• Experience engaging local business leaders through classroom interactions and other activities

The successful applicant will be expected to teach Cost Management and other courses as required at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and to maintain an active profile in at least two areas of professional practice (as defined above).
