POSITION: Laboratory Instructor (Demonstrator)
DEPARTMENT / LOCATION: School of Physiotherapy

SALARY / PAY RATE: As per CUPE

WORK ASSIGNMENT: PHYT 6107 Neurological Physiotherapy Practice (September 2016 – December 2016).

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The laboratory instructor/demonstrator will assist the course professor by teaching MSc(PT) students practical skills, techniques, and intervention strategies for the appropriate management of patients with neurological dysfunction. The laboratory instructor will prepare the space; coordinate the equipment and the volunteers necessary to conduct the laboratories and/or practical examinations. The laboratory instructor will evaluate student performance during in-class practical assignments, during the mid-term and final practical exams and throughout the course. Some additional hours may be required for preparation time and limited meeting time with the professor.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Candidates must be licensed Physiotherapists with strong theoretical knowledge and a minimum of two years working experience that includes clinical neurotherapeutics. Evidence of professional development in adult and paediatric neurotherapeutics is preferred. A Master’s degree is preferred and previous teaching experience will be considered an asset.
