In May 2015 HÂþ» University will be hosting its first . The challenge encourages staff, faculty and students to spend 30 minutes per day outside every day in May. Most of us spend too much time inside and little time outdoors. It’s time for us to lace up our shoes, and get outside!
Throughout the month of May, there will be a range of activities to help you get outside and enjoy nature around campus. Check out the following activities:
#MeetingMondays - Take your meeting outside! Sit in the sun, walk and talk, and be productive while getting fresh air and some much needed sunshine.
#TouringTuesdays - Take one of our free lunchtime campus tours. Whether it's learning about the history of HÂþ»'s campus or how to take photos, there's something for everyone. Check out for more information.
#WalkingWednesdays - Get outside and hit the pavement. Incorporate a walk over your lunch break, or perhaps get your department out and challenge each other to a walk-off!
#TryitThursdays - Try one of the many activities we have . We have things for everyone. Interested in treasure hunting? Take your department or family out, and complete the month-long HÂþ» Geocaching activity. Tweet us a photo of you on your own treasure hunt!
#FoodFridays - We all love a great meal with amazing atmosphere. So how about you join us, and other HÂþ» staff, faculty, and students, every Friday on the Studley Campus Quad from 12-1pm for a picnic lunch? Bring your food, and join us for some activities and laughs over the lunch hour or simply find a spot closer to you to gulp some fresh air along with your meal.
Don't forget to share with us on Twitter your daily activities outside. Use the hashtags #DalOutside and the daily activity (e.g., #MeetingMondays) to show us, and the HÂþ» community what you're doing. Each week there will be a random draw for a chance to win a prize, so post pictures of what YOU'RE doing to enter for the draw.
The 30 x 30 Nature Challenge at HÂþ» is supported by Human Resources and the office of the Chair in Sustainability and Environmental Health in Environmental Science. All events are free to the HÂþ» community.
