The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at HÂþ»­ University invites applications for a 12-month 60% Limited-Term Instructor position commencing
August 1, 2015. The instructor will be responsible for teaching two or three sections of a third-year Neuroscience lab class in addition to one or two classes in our Neuroscience program.

The Instructor will be responsible for all lectures, for supervising lab sessions, for test preparation, and for exam administration and evaluation (including supplemental examinations) and will also be available for at least two hours per week for student consultation.

Student project supervision and engagement in departmental administration throughout the full year is also expected.

The laboratory class requires experience and proficiency in some or all of the following methods: confocal microscopy, immunocytochemistry, high-performance liquid chromatography, visualization of neurotransmitter systems, and electron microscopy of neurons and synapses. In accordance with previous years, the class will most likely make use of preparations from vertebrate retinas and insect brains.

Applicants should have a PhD in Neuro- or Biological Sciences, demonstrated teaching effectiveness, and previous experience teaching this or very similar material.
