Pedestrian and vehicle traffic will be disrupted this weekend on University Avenue, in front of the Collaborative Health Education Building (CHEB) construction site at the corner of Summer Street. Disruption begins on the evening of Friday, October 3rd, with the closure of parking meter spaces. Work starts on Saturday morning and is expected to continue for the weekend until the end of day on Sunday, October 5th. This partial street closure is required in order to complete the utility service connections for the new CHEB facility.
The westbound vehicle lane and pedestrian sidewalk on this section of University Avenue will be closed for the duration. Appropriate barriers, signage, and traffic control personnel will be present to ensure smooth traffic flows. Meter bags will be placed on all parking meters within the affected area on Friday at 6:00 PM. After traffic control personnel arrive Saturday morning at approximately 4:00 AM, any vehicles parked at bagged meters will be towed. Barriers and meter bags will be removed immediately once the work is complete and normal access will resume.
For any issues that may arise during the course of this work, please contact the on-site manager with Bird Construction: Victor Power at 902-818-2502.
