Teaching Assistant Position in the Contemporary Studies Programme

The Contemporary Studies Programme (CTMP) at the University of King’s College invites applications for a Teaching Assistant to handle duties in CTMP 2330: “Reflections on Death.” The course (offered in the fall term) will introduce students to philosophical (eg. Plato, Hegel, Nietzsche and Heidegger), literary (Tolstoy, de Beauvoir, Edson, Sartre) and biomedical perspectives on death.
Candidates for the position should have at least an undergraduate degree and experience in modern and contemporary continental thought. Prior TA experience and/or interdisciplinary training would be assets.
Duties will include attending weekly lectures (Tuesdays 1:05-2:25), leading a seminar group (Thursdays 1.05-2.25), reading course materials, grading, office hours (one hour per week) and meeting occasionally with the professor. The pay scale will match the collective agreement between H and CUPE.
