The HÂþ»­ University Department of Russian Studies seeks applications for a 2-year full-time limited term appointment (ten months a year, August 1 – May 31) at the Instructor level in Russian language and culture, effective August 1, 2014. The position is subject to budgetary approval. Applicants should have the minimum of an MA degree in Russian or comparative linguistics/language pedagogy/literature and culture. Native or native-equivalent command of Russian and English, as well as experience in teaching the Russian language at an undergraduate level, are required. The instructor will teach language and introductory Russian culture courses for the equivalent of four full-credit (eight half-credit) classes during the ten-month period. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and administrative skills.
An up-to-date curriculum vitae, statement of teaching interests and philosophy, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and three letters of reference forwarded under separate cover should be submitted in hard copy or electronically to the Search Committee at the following address:
