Collective Bargaining update

The NSGEU and HÂþ»­ University negotiating teams met over the course of the summer to determine terms and conditions of employment for Agricultural Campus employees who will merge into NSGEU Local 77 (clerical, secretarial, technical and library support) and into NSGEU local 99 (custodians, trades, security, grounds, trucking and mailroom). Significant progress has been made as outlined in the list of agreed upon articles below.

The parties last met on Sept. 30th and negotiations to conclude the remaining outstanding articles will continue through October. At that point the parties will determine whether they have made sufficient progress to continue negotiating without third party assistance or whether they should seek the assistance of the Labour Board in determining the appropriate bargaining unit structure and possibly to assist the parties in concluding negotiations to establish terms and conditions of employment for Agricultural Campus staff.

The current collective agreements for NSGEU Locals 77 and 99 expire on June 30, 2014.

The parties have tentatively agreed on the following articles for agricultural campus Local 92 bargaining unit members who will merge with NSGEU Local 99 (Facilities Operational Support):
