The Basics of Conflict Resolution
October 3rd & 8th, 2013
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. each day
Room 224, Student Union Building
With Gaye Wishart and Janice MacInnis
Got conflict or tension in your relationships? You are not alone. Yet many people struggle with how to deal with it. Don’t allow yourself to fall prey to the myths of conflict:
“If I ignore it, it will go away.â€
“If I bring it up, it will hurt the relationship.â€
“If I mention it, it will cause anger.â€
Ignoring it probably guarantees that the problem will continue. Letting people know how you feel about issues is more likely to strengthen a relationship when it’s done appropriately. Raising concerns may lead to anger, however we can explore appropriate responses. This workshop for faculty and staff will provide tools to aid in addressing problems and resolving interpersonal differences.
