POSITION: Part-Time Academic
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: School of Social Work
PAY RATE: As per Collective Agreement

WORK ASSIGNMENT #1: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching
SLWK 3220.03 “Cross Cultural Issues” Section 01 on Campus. The class will be
offered in the Winter session, January to April 2014.

WORK ASSIGNMENT #2: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching
SLWK 3084.03 “Understanding Research Methods” Section 02 on Campus. The
class will be offered in the Winter session, January to April 2014.


The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and
administering the class, including lectures, test preparation, and
evaluation of tests and reports. The part-time academic should expect to be
engaged in employment for one month preceding course delivery for course
preparations. For a description of the course listed below please refer to

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background in social work with
extensive experience in social work (or related fields) is required. The
successful incumbent is required to have solid knowledge of a variety of
social work skills and the ability to impart these skills to students. A
Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience is
preferred.
