David Gray, dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Agricultural Campus principal, has been made an honorary professor of the University of the Highlands and Islands in recognition of his contribution to the institution.
Gray ran the Scalloway college for five years until this year when he took on his new role at H starting August 1.
He thanked the UHI for the honour and said he was looking forward to working with its Centre for Nordic Studies from his new position on the other side of the Atlantic.
“I have always been very proud to be a part of the University of the Highlands and Islands and am delighted that I will be maintaining an ongoing link with what is clearly a highly innovative and forward thinking institution,” he said.
