The Contemporary Studies Programme (CTMP) at the University of King’s College invites applications for a Teaching Assistant to handle duties in CTMP 3116: “Martin Heidegger: Science, Poetry, Thinking”. The course (offered in the Fall term) will introduce students to Heidegger’s wide-ranging course of thought by examining texts from across his ouvre – from the mid-1920’s work on phenomenology as a science to the more mature reflections on language, poetizing, and the task of thinking.
Candidates should at least have an undergraduate degree and experience in modern and contemporary continental philosophy. Duties may include primarily grading, reading course documents, attending class, holding office hours (one per week) and meeting occasionally with the professor. The appointment will be at the level of TA130, and the pay scale will match the recent collective agreement between H and CUPE. The University of King’s College is an equal opportunity employer. Applications should be received no later than September 4, 2013.
