Because we may spend a large portion of our lives in retirement, it is vital to start planning for this stage of life as early as possible. We tend to put off considering our options and making decisions. For retirement to be a positive phase, however, it is important to start thinking early about how we want to spend our retirement years, and then take steps, both financially and in lifestyle, to make it possible.
To help you make these decisions, HÂþ» University, through Human Resources, offers a series of workshops, seminars and information sessions relating to various aspects of retirement. Each year, all employees 45 years of age and over are invited to attend these workshops free of charge. This year, we’ve added a few new topics including memory, wills, nutrition and exercise. You may attend any or all of the various sessions at any point between now and your retirement. Spouses are also welcome to attend.
As appropriate, please liaise with your supervisor concerning your attendance in light of departmental needs.
