Member of Parliament Andy Fillmore paid tribute to his alma mater in the House of Commons Monday afternoon, while Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shared well-wishes for Dal's 200th anniversary via video as part of Tuesday's Bicentennial Launch event. The Prime Minister also recently celebrated Dr. Afua Cooper as part of his statement for Black History Month.

Featuring artistic talents from across the Dal community, the event was a showcase of the university’s two centuries of achievement with an eye towards its promising future.

During his lifetime, the music of Austrian composor Franz Schubert was most often performed at small gatherings dubbed "Schubertiades." This weekend, students in Dal's Fountain School of Performing Arts will bring the Schubertiade into the 21st century with a special performance event in the community, aligned with Dal's 200th anniversary.
