Stories of the important work by Dal’s communities are found throughout this year’s edition of H’s Community Report.
“At H, we pride ourselves on being a gathering place where diverse ideas, lived experiences and goals are supported by a network of inspired relationships that begin on campus and extend locally, nationally and globally,” writes Frank Harvey, Dal's acting president and vice-chancellor, in the report’s opening message.
The Community Report, released each spring, highlights stories, projects and experiences that demonstrate Dal’s important role in our local community and across the region, country and world. For this year’s report, students, faculty, staff, and alumni were asked to share their stories about the work they do to make a difference in their communities.
Feature stories in the report highlight:
· Student stories as future-ready leaders, including the H Medical Campus Response Team, which uses a peer-led model to provide first aid and health support to members of the Dal community;
· The core value of community service that guides H Athletics and its student-athletes whose community and volunteer initiatives total more than 4,000 hours each year and strengthens its connection to community;
· The globally innovative research pursued by our faculty and researchers each year, including the Faculty of Agriculture, which is incorporating data and technology into addressing climate change and food security;
· How the Dal community is united in our goals to achieve our commitments, in particular our first university-wideAccessibility Plan to support Nova Scotia's goal of being fully accessible by 2030.
The 2022 Community Report is being shared with community partners. The report is written and produced by the university’s Communications, Marketing and Creative Services team.
