Swimmers named Subway AUS Athletes of the Week

After leading their teams to victory at the 2022 Subway AUS Swimming Championships, Reagan Crowell and Adam Bouma of the HÂþ»­ Tigers were named both swimmers of the meet and athletes of the week.

Reagan Crowell of the HÂþ»­ Tigers women’s swimming team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending March 13, 2022.  

A fourth-year psychology student, Crowell led the Tigers to their 20th consecutive AUS championship win with seven podium finishes. She earned gold medals in the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle events in addition to the 400m freestyle, 800m freestyle and 400m medley relays. She also had a silver in the 100m freestyle event. A team captain, she was named the championship swimmer of the meet for her standout performance.

Before championship weekend got underway, Crowell was also named the 2022 AUS women’s swimmer of the year, recording eight individual wins and seven relay wins during the 2021-22 season.

Adam Bouma of the HÂþ»­ Tigers men’s swimming team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending March 13, 2022.

A first-year swimmer from Belleville, Ontario, Bouma led the Tigers men's swimming team to their 32nd AUS championship title with a six-medal performance. Over the championship weekend, he won gold medals in the 100m and 200m breaststroke, 200m IM and was a member of the Tigers’ first-place 400m medley relay team. Bouma also took home silver medals in the 50m breaststroke and 400m freestyle relay.  

For his impressive performance at his first AUS championship, he was named both the male rookie of the meet and championship swimmer of the meet.
