(Halifax, N.S.) - HÂþ» University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 26, 2017.
Fifth-year runner Sarah Myatt and third-year swimmer Phoebe Lenderyou are this week’s G2 Female Athletes of the Week.
Sarah Myatt, Track & Field
Sarah won four gold medals at the AUS championship this past weekend, earning AUS championship MVP honours.
She won the 600m and 1000m races and was part of both the Tigers first-place 4x400m and 4x800m relay teams. She and her teammates set a new AUS record in 4x800m relay race.
An arts student, Sarah is from Fredericton, N.B.

Phoebe Lenderyou, Swimming
Phoebe won bronze in the 100m backstroke event at the U SPORTS championships in Sherbrooke over the weekend.
She also had two fourth-place finishes in the 50m and 200m backstroke events, narrowly missing the podium in both races. She also recorded a 10th place finish in the 400m freestyle relay and 11th in the 800m freestyle relay with her teammates.
A management student, Phoebe is from Newcastle Upon Tyne, England.

Mike Van Der Poel, Track & Field
Second-year sprinter Mike Van Der Poel is this week’s G2 Male Athlete of the Week.
Mike led the Tigers to an AUS team championship at the AUS championship over the weekend, setting three new AUS records in the process.
He won the men’s 300m run and ran the anchor leg of both the 4x200m and 4x400m relays, all in AUS record-setting times. At the end of the meet, he was named the AUS male track athlete of the year.
A native of Truro, N.S., Mike is an engineering student.
