Rachel Shin, Swimming
Fourth-year swimmer Rachel Shin is this week’s G2 Female Athlete of the Week.
Shin led the Tigers to a team victory at the Amby Leger Invitational Swim meet at UNB this past weekend. She won both the 400m IM and 200m butterfly events, meeting CIS championship standards in both. As the only swimmer in the conference to have met two CIS qualifying standards, she also found the top of the podium in the 100m IM and swam the butterfly leg of the 4x100m medley relay that claimed gold.
A science student, Rachel is from Toronto, ON.

Tony Liew, Swimming
Second-year swimmer Tony Liew is this week’s G2 Male Athlete of the Week.
Liew won five events at UNB’s Amby Leger Invitational Swim meet this past weekend, leading the Tigers to their second team victory of the season. He swam a lifetime-best in the 100m backstroke event and claimed victories in the 50m freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke events. He was also the fastest split of the Tigers 8x50m freestyle mixed relay.
A native of Peterborough, ON, Tony is a health professions student.
