Karen Moore retires after 30 years

On January 31, Karen Moore, retired as HÂþ»­â€™s director, varsity athletics. As a HÂþ»­ alumna and former Tiger athlete, Karen has provided more than 30 years of decorated service to the university and Canadian sport. Among the many accomplishments she has collected along the way, are: Olympic athlete; winner of the Tigers Athlete of the Year Award; winner of the A.J. Sandy Young Award for contributions to sport in Nova Scotia; inductee to the HÂþ»­ Sport Hall of Fame; two-time inductee to the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame; and six years as a Tigers volleyball coach.

Karen started her career at HÂþ»­ as a coach and sports information officer shortly after participating in the 1984 Olympics on the Canadian volleyball team. Since then she has held many positions including manager of athletics and associate director of athletics, and was twice acting director of athletics. She became the director, varsity athletics in 2012.

The search for a new director, varsity athletics will commence immediately.
