HÂþ»­ University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 4, 2012.

Daphne Wallace, soccer

Third-year midfielder Daphne Wallace led the women’s soccer team to their second consecutive AUS championship in Sydney, NS this past weekend. In Saturday’s semifinal matchup with UPEI Wallace scored to give the Tigers a 1-0 win. On Sunday in the final game versus CBU she scored the first goal to put Dal on the board and a second goal with only minutes remaining to secure the victory. Wallace was named the championship Subway Player of the Game for her outstanding performance. A science student, she hails from Ottawa, ON.

Nathan Rogers, soccer

At the Subway AUS soccer championship hosted by UPEI fourth-year co-captain Nathan Rogers led the Tigers with an outstanding performance on the field, scoring all of the team’s goals over the weekend. In Friday’s quarter-final game Rogers secured Dal’s 1-0 victory over UdeM. Rogers notched three goals in the semifinal match with UNB on Sunday, but it was not enough and Dal fell 4-3. The AUS second team all-star is from Calgary, AB and a commerce student.
