Rochelle Owen, director of the Office of Sustainability, and Jeff Lamb, assistant vice-president of Facilities Management, talk about the thinking that went into the Mona Campbell Building, HÂþ»'s newest academic building located at the corner of LeMarchant Street and Coburg Road.

Some of the building's green features include: bike racks on the perimeter of the building and in the basement; a cistern to collect nonpotable water; 85 heat pumps to recirculate heat from different parts of the building; high-efficiency lighting with sensors that detect when a room is in use or not; "Bubbledeck" technology used during construction; and a green roof.

"It's important for student to know that we are not only talking about sustainability, that we're actually doing something about sustainability," says Tarah Wright, associate director of HÂþ»'s College of Sustainability.
