Fifth-year forward Laurie Girdwood led the Tigers to two straight wins this weekend. The management student from Dundas, Ont. collected 18 points and nine rebounds as the Tigers defeated the Axewomen 75-46 at home on Friday. On Sunday, the Tigers traveled to Acadia and came away with their second win of the weekend, defeating their opponents 66-64. Ms. Girdwood put in another outstanding performance with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

Kinesiology student Simon Watts leapt to the top of the CIS rankings in the high jump, recording a 2.06-metre jump at the Moncton Open on Saturday. 2.06 metres is the highest jump recorded thus far in the CIS and is a new HÂþ» high jump record, breaking the original set in 1982 by one centimetre.
