How can the H Libraries help you? We wonÕt know until you tell us.
From March 1 to March 23, the libraries are inviting students, faculty and staff to participate in a major survey. Data gathered from the LibQUAL + survey will help improve service, resources and facilities at HÕs five library locations: the W.K. Kellogg Health Sciences Library, Killam Memorial Library, Pharmacy Library, Sexton Design & Technology Library and Sir James Dunn Law Library.
ÒWith the libraries, usersÕ expectations are constantly changing,” says Tina Usmiani, Communications Officer for H Libraries. ÒAnd we want to keep on top of what those expectations are.”
The LibQUAL + survey will be available online, linked from the librariesÕ website at . It poses 22 questions covering three different areas Ð Affect of Service, Library as Place, Information Control Ð and should take about 15 minutes to complete.
You could win a prize by completing the survey. Dinner for two at Chives Restaurant and gift certificates from the Halifax Shopping Centre are up for grabs.
H Libraries last conducted a campus-wide survey in 2005. In response to feedback from the survey, the fourth and fifth floors of the Killam were designated as quiet study zones, a Learning Commons was added to the Sexton Library, more electronic journals were acquired and a virtual tour of the Killam Ð ÒKillam Quest” Ð was created.
