Be the author of your own good fortune and fame

The Department of English at HÂþ»­ University would like to announce itsannual literary contests.

The Clare Murray Fooshee Poetry Prizes are open to full-time and part-time undergraduate students registered at HÂþ»­ University or Kings' College. Candidates are encouraged to submit a poem or a group of poems (maximum five). First prize is $400; second prize is $300; third prize is $200.

The Honourable W. H. Dennis Memorial Prizes are open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students at HÂþ»­ University only. The Joseph Howe Prizes for poetry (a poem or group of poems) entail a first prize of $250 and a second prize of $150. The two James DeMille Prizes, worth $250 each, will be awarded to an essay (personal or academic) and to a prose short story.
