Jonathan Deal (BSc) and Peng Fei Li (BSc Hons) are recipients of the聽Anonymous Prize in Economics for 2011-12. The prize is awarded to an聽Economics student or students, not in their last year, "who has (have)聽shown through an essay outstanding promise of successfully applying聽economics to the solution of human problems." Both Deal and Li were聽nominated by their Econometrics (Econ 3338) professor, Courtney Ward, for聽their papers entitled: "An Essay on the Effect of Changes in State-Level Tax聽Burden on the Rate of Larceny Theft" (Deal) and "Effects of the Minimum聽Wage on the Employment of Teenagers and Young Adults in Canada" (Li).
