Dawson Geology Club

Due to the increase in activities and Membership the Dawson Club is one of the largest clubs affiliated with the Canadian Institute of Mining.

Activities for the year included lectures by notable speakers on topics such as: "The Rift Valley of Africa," "Soil Mechanics," and "The Geology of South West Ireland."

A large number of members participated in the student convention in Antigonish and in three field trips during the year, the last of which was to the Walton Barite Mine, an extensive underground excursion.

At numerous times during the year, the executive went on convention and business trips to New York, Houston, Denver and Chicago.
