Earth and Environmental Sciences Class of 2020

Message to the 2020 graduating class from EES Chair, James Brenan

It is my pleasure to welcome you to this virtual montage in honour of the inaugural class of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, which was formed by the merger of the Environmental Science Program and the Earth Science Dept in July of 2019.  Past tradition has that we lunch with graduates and their friends and family following the in-person convocation, but unfortunately that was not possible this year.  Instead, we had the rather unusual case of broadcasting that event live from my home!  I know that it is a bit of a disappointment that the class of 2020 will not be walking across the stage at this time, but rest assured you will be invited to an in-person event when conditions allow.

On this web-page we have prepared a bit of a salute to you graduates, including a medley of remembrances of your time here compiled by the undergraduate club leadership, Julia Fast and Olivia Rolfe, a PowerPoint presentation listing the names of the graduates, with some photos and quotes,  a video compilation of inspirational messages from the department faculty put together by the very talented Dr Amy Mui, and an extended message from the EES Professor of the Year, Dr. Chris Greene.
