Dr. Jeanna Parsons Leigh (School of Health Administration) was awarded a third rapid response grant from the CIHR, the first looking at the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 and the second looking at vaccine hesitancy. Now as we’re further along into the pandemic, Dr. Parsons Leigh wants to study how we are going to recover. These studies are part of a pandemic preparedness research hub that Dr. Parsons Leigh is creating at HÂþ» University, and each study informs the next.

Heather Payette (BN’88) has many great memories from her days at Dal. “So much fun and a lot of work. Lots of laughter and lots of tears. The friends from intramural sports, residence, ‘For the Health of It’ variety show skits, Tupper band rehearsals in the Tupper building cafeteria, walking back and forth from each end of campus, Halifax Mardi Gras at Halloween, walking at Point Pleasant Park, donairs on the way home from downtown, Peddler’s Pub, the 8 am lectures, frosh events, I could go on and on!â€

A generous donation from Sobeys National Pharmacy Group will support students from underrepresented groups in their pursuit of pharmacy education at Dal. The $30,000 gift will be directed toward the Faculty of Health's priority area of advancing and supporting inclusion and equity in the College of Pharmacy. The Director of the College says the donation is a welcome gift that will go towards providing financial assistance for deserving students.
