Representatives from RBC have volunteered their time and expertise to help students develop professional resumes since 2018 and this year was no exception. Â
On Thursday, February 11, 33 mostly pre-internship students were able to video chat one-on-one with one of five RBC volunteers.
Each student emailed their draft resume prior to their appointment and were able to have a 20-minute critique through each representative’s individual video chat room. Several of the students commented how useful the experience was, with one student describing it as a “resourceful opportunity.â€
The RBC representatives seemed to enjoy themselves as well with Susan Nixon stating, “Great conversations and from all over the world.â€Â To which Claude Thibault responded, “Yes, I had two conversations in Poland, two in the Netherlands and one in Germany!â€
“The willingness of the RBC crew to be creative and adapt to our current circumstances, is so amazing,†remarked Joy Galloway-Jones, Instructor/Manager of Work Integrated Learning. “It actually gave us ideas for improving the experience, even when we are able to do it face-to-face again,†she added.
