Position

Part-time Academic position teaching online Synchronous labs for course ANSC3006 (Companion Animal Biology) in the 2021 winter semester. The labs for this course are currently scheduled for Mondays (9:35-10:25 & 11:35-12:25).

Department/Location

Haley Institute, HÂþ»­ Agricultural Campus.

Pay Rate: In accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement.

Work Assignment

The incumbent will be responsible for developing laboratory sessions in coordination with instructors teaching the lecture portion of the material.Ìý Incumbent is responsible for delivering laboratory sessions in an on-line environment, grading laboratory assignments, and setting up and monitoring student discussion groups. ÌýÌýKnowledge of companion animal biology is required; the course emphasizes dogs and cats, but pocket pets, birds, and other species kept as companion animals are included. ÌýFamiliarity with the Brightspace system to provide information and student assessment is an asset.

Requirements of Position:ÌýÌý

Master’s degree in Animal Science, Biology or similar discipline, or Bachelor’s degree in animal science/biology with at least two years experience with companion animals.Ìý At least one year experience teaching in post-secondary education, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Ìý
