HÂþ» University’s Agricola Archives, located in the MacRae Library is seeking an enthusiastic individual to work full time for approximately 16 weeks to enhance and make accessible 115 years of Atlantic Canada agricultural history and provide library services in an academic setting. The successful candidate will report to Jennifer MacIsaac, Archives, Museum, and Special Collections Specialist.
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
• Educational background in archival studies or librarianship (MLIS or LIT diploma) preferred
• Experience with computer applications (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, PDFs, etc.) and systems (both personal computers and network)
• Knowledge of current theory, principles, and practice relating to recorded information management; archival theory, principles and practice, in particular, appraisal and Rules for Archival Description preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Note: To be eligible, internship candidates must be under 30 years of age and have not previously participated in or been paid under this or any other internship program funded by the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Strategy.
Start Date: 13 May 2019
End Date: 30 August 2019
Salary: $12.00/hr; 35 hours/week
