The H University Faculty of Agriculture on the H Agricultural Campus is the proud sponsor and host of the 2016 Chignecto West Regional Science Fair.
This year’s Science Fair, held March 28th -31st, will see 120 participants and 90 projects from students in Grades 4 through 12.
“We are super excited to be hosting the Chignecto West Regional Science Fair on the Agricultural Campus this year,” said Dean and Campus Principal Dr. David Gray. “Anytime we have the opportunity to share our excitement and enthusiasm for science with bright, young minds, we jump at it,” he added. “Our communities rely more on science every day and science fairs are a great way for students to become more knowledgeable about how the world around them works.”
Public viewing and school tours will be held Wednesday, March 30th from 10:00am-2:00pm with the awards ceremony being held Thursday, March 31st at 7:00pm in the Alumni Theatre on the Agricultural Campus.
Secondary students, (junior, intermediate and senior) will present projects in the categories of Agriculture, Discovery, Energy, Engineering innovation, Environment, Health, Information and Resources. All students competing at the Fair will have the opportunity to participate in activities and tours on campus as part of their science fair experience!
“The regional science fair is a highlight of the year for many of our schools and we are absolutely thrilled to be at the Agricultural Campus of H University,” said Dianne Fraser, member of the Chignecto West Regional Science Fair organizing committee. “Everyone here has made our committee and our students feel very welcome. We know it’s going to be a great two days!”
Schools participating in the Fair include the Cobequid and Nova Family of Schools and judging will be completed by faculty and staff members.
