ACORN 2014 Trade Show

On November 12th, ACORN's Conference Kick-OffÌýwill take place in the Upper Courtyard in the Brewery Market, from 7-10pm, featuring an all-local-organic beer bar, wine, and food and coffee provided by Local Source Market and Just Us Coffee.

On November 13th, ACORN will feature our annual, 4-course, 100% Organic Banquet, preceding Dr. Vandana Shiva's keynote address for ACORN and Food Secure Canada. Keynote Speaker: Dr. Vandana Shiva is a world-renowned organic food and seed activist, author and physicist. She has authored more than twenty books on issues of globalization, corporate control, gender rights, justice, ecofeminism, and agriculture. Holding degrees in both physics and philosophy, Shiva has earned global recognition for her work promoting sustainable practices, as well as the protection of biodiversity and the rights of local communities. She has won numerous awards for her work including the Alternative Nobel Peace Prize in 1993, the Sydney Peace Prize in 2000, and is one of the founders ofÌý, a movement to protect biological and cultural diversity.Ìý
